Working with LGBTQI+ Clientele - Training and Resources

As a follow-up to the two previous blog posts about LGBTQI+ clients in intervention: Creating an Inclusive Practice as an Ally of the LGBTQI+ Community and Adapt Your Practice to LGBTQI+ Clientele by Learning about Their Reality, here is a list of training opportunities and resources that you may find useful!
Training Opportunities
Please note that the following list is only a selection of the many training opportunities available, not an exhaustive list. We have selected these particular courses because we consider them credible, interesting, and they are given by qualified people. On this note, we would like to remind you how important it is to choose your training opportunities carefully, taking into consideration who is giving the course. It is important that the person has experience with the subject, and the professional background necessary to qualify them. Ideally, the course would be offered by someone who is trained in the mental health field and, most importantly, a member of the LGBTQI+ community.
Please note: These courses are only available in French.
External Resources for Gender and Sexual Diversity Clients
As mental health professionals it is important to be familiar with the resources in our community that are available for every client and every specific problem. Having this knowledge allows you to provide the best possible care and service by referring your client at the right time, to the right place, ensuring that the care is provided by professionals who are specialized in the area required. Again, this is not an exhaustive list, but we hope you find it useful.
Please note: These courses are only available in French.
